kailey's room redo.. sneak peek.

So about  a year ago when we moved into this house ,we wanted to tackle the kids rooms you know make them something really special, a place all of their own............Well we are finally getting around to it , and we are starting with kaileys room first. So here is a little peek at the direction we are heading in.
Think........beautiful pale lavender/mauve colored walls, with a white beadboard chair rail and a  pretty antique iron bed with a beatiful canopy made of tulle.

Think.....Pretty embrioderd vintage pillows..

Beautiful handmade quilt with delicate embrioderd trim with a floral accent, made for a princess by her mother-thats right folks, I made this beautie by hand, no sewing machine!!! My first one ever (special shout out to my girlfriend Judy), for logging all those long hours with me ......
Think..... pretty white antique funiture accents......
Beautiful fabrics........ fit for a priness.....

And pretty little chairs, sitting in front of a beautiful antique vainty...... what little prinsess would'nt want a room like that to call her own. stay tuned I'll post the  room reveal soon....

In other news....

So lots going on at my chic little shack this week .I have lots of little projects I'm working on like this stool I recovered with this pretty chenille fabric in ivory, Love how it turned out, you really notice the intricate details of the iron.
My next project is this little chair for kailey's room .I'm going to use that pretty  crown fabric I got last week. I'm not sure if I'll do the frame in white or a hammered silver. I'll have to play with it a little see what strikes my fancy.

Also coming.......This weeks installment of Mason jar madness- here's your little sneak peek.

Big project at Gigi's place this week ,new wallpaper and a faux stone wall,

speaking off Gigi's redo, we could use your help! I think she should paint this brick by the fireplace white and add white  beadboard to the top then frame it all in with a nice trim . GG'S   not sure, post your comments below and help us deside- or if you have another idea for this corner, we're open for suggestions....

Now the sad news my beloved kittie " Marty" is missing. We are all devastated, I think the worst part is not knowing whats happened to him, he's been gone since tuesdsy. Marty  is the best cat. We've had him for 7 years and he makes everyones life a little brighter, it's really sad around here without him. He's one of those cats who thinks he's a dog, and I'm pretty sure he was one in another life. Miss you Marty xoxoxo.

Till next time, stay chic......... xoxo Elle

MASON JAR MADNESS..DIY SEA GLASS MASON JARS

Hi guys happy sunday, so this weeks DIY craft once again is with mason jars.We just love mason jars in our house one of the reasons being how useful and pretty these lovlies are . Also I'm the mother of three wonderful little people ,my eldest son MASON loves to collect the jars because they bear his name so these little beauties have a special place in our house, and we r always looking for cool new things to do with our jars. So this month we r having mason jar madness, every week we will do a different craft with our beloved mason jars,  This week-SEA GLASS MASON JARS
Here's what you'll nee...............   Elmer, s school glue , food coloring,  mason jars , and a sponge paint brush.
Tip-the type of glue is very important as we have  attempted this project before n had trouble because most craft glue drys clear , this gives you a different look. For the frosty sea glass effect you need Elmer school glue.
For our jars our mixture was made up of glue, 3 drops of blue food coloring,
and 1 drop of green , mix it till it looks like this.(Above)

Once you have made you mixture simply paint it on your jar, one light even coat should do it. While drying your jars will look like this(Above).Just leave them overnite and you should have this... ( below)

So ther you have it these lovlies make beatiful vases or tealight holders . Have fun till next time ..
 Elle xoxo.

sweetpeas snapshots

Hi guy's hope everyone has had a good weekend , mine was very unproductive as I've been really sick with pheumonia, so I've been laying low.Today's post is pretty random, just some snapshots from my tablet, the above photo is of some old candlesticks I redid in white ,they were a ugly brown before with gold balls I think they look alot better this way, and they were like 2 bucks for the three of them.
Here are some mason jars I tried to give a seaglass finish to, they looked great as u can see, but they dried a clear blue which ended up being pretty cool too, but not the desired effect if anyone out there has a good seaglass tutorial for me leave it in the comments, I would be so greatfull.
This petty window hangs above my sink in the kitchen I cant take credit for this one I bought it off a friend at work her mother makes them although I am working on a few windows of my own that I will post about later.
Love these cool cat wine bottles these one's belong to GIGI she is my mama bear, one of my dearest friends and is like a mother to me as I'm not really close with my own mother she is definatley the next best thing anyway, she made a really cool light out of one of these cats, I'll dig out a pic and post about it soon. I have a few of my own I use them as vase's and jewelry holders.
Life is pretty good these days, loving life and blogging about it. I have so many ideas swimming around my head right now and lots coming up to share with u, I'm definatley a novice when it comes to blogging and all, but I hope to learn,  and grow, threw my blog- and yours, and hope to make new friends and share all my dreams and achievements along the way.I'm still hoping to open my own shop and I'm really falling in love with styling and photos.
As soon as the weather improves I hope to really start to dust off some of those ambitions and projects just look at the crazy weather we are getting this is my backyard last week!

Love this picture Deb from Fieldstone Flowers and Antiques gave me last week, I truly believe that life is a journey ,and to always stop to enjoy the small thing like ,smelling the roses, the love of a family, and just creating something special .
My next big projct is the "back 40"as I call the woodsy area beyond my yard Iwant to create a magical space with a rustic yet feminine look, lots of lace, tulle and chandeliers, laterns stuff like that. I'm very excited to do this project as my kids love to hang out back there so i cant wait to make it a really cool  family-friendly area comleate with a little cottage/fort for the kids and a cozy romantic area for mom amd dad to sit and just be with our kids.
The sea glass that ended up being these pretty jars I use for candles and flowers I've made a bunch more for the backyard and in pink also.
This is a picture of Emma our puppy I am lovin it I dont know why I just love the way it's all blurry it was'nt meant to be like this but I think i'll frame it and put it up somewhere in the house.
Anyway this post is all over the place so I'm going to close with a few shots from a cool shop I was in the other day in Keen ON that I will post about in the next shop of the week post it's not quite ready though so here's your little preview.
a cool nest the shop owner found by the front door

love this vase I have to have one, it would look really pretty with gerber daisys

I  also really want this vintage book collecton I was in a super rush when I stopped to take these photos but I'm definatley going back for these
