DIY vintage blue mason jars. .

This weeks project is super easy to do , for me this was a no brainer, I' ve been looking for those ball mason jars you see everywhere,  but could never find any  so I decided to make my own out of some jars I had around the house .
I used craft glue a drop of dish soap a ttablespoon of water and  food coloring 2 drops blue 1 drop green mix it all together till you get this
It will look like these as they dry but dont worry they will look perfect when they fully dry , I left mine overnite.
See how pretty they look , you can do other colors too I did some in pink they look great also, sorta like cranberry frosted glass.

DIY Bedroom mini makeover, in under 5 dollar's

Hi guys this post is all about the mini makeover I did on my room. I hadn't done anything with my bedroom since I moved in last may, so I thought it was time, but of course money was an issue so I had to be frugal.  I think I succeeded, as all I ended up spending was 5 dollars on some hooks for my curtain rods, which I made by the way out of branches from my back 40, that's what I call the woods beyond my backyard. Here are some before and after pics of my room.As you will see it was very plan but functional beforehand, all I did to spruce it up was hang my curtains using branches that I spray paited white, I also hung curtains in front of my closet also with a branch thou I left this one natural as I liked the look better with the sheer panel's. I then added a headboard to my bed using two broken byfold doors , I hung a pretty garland that I made from a vintage book, lace,  burlap and eyelet scraps I had lying aroud., a new side table was added, which I also had around. I moved my antique dresser, added a chair, a vignette or two, hung a picture and viola mini makeover in under 5 dollars.

Of course my bedroom is far from complete, but it's a little more cozy for now so I'm happy.  xoxo Elle

DIY, project of the week. Vintage book and lace garland.

Todays craft is a goody all you will need is some fabric scarps,  glue and twine.

Just cut fabric scarps into rectangles and use glue to hold pieces together, then use twine to hold  garland together.
Let  dry , then  hang wherever you choose

I hung mine above my bed Have fun

my chic shack in the making....dining room. pt.1

About a year ago we moved into a 3 bedroom duplex , here's some shots of the dinning room, it's far from compleated but I'll share  anywaY

above
is the I hutch i repurposed it was a ugly brown wood, I painted it white and added some stain for a aged look and put wallpaper in the back, I love how it turned out.

this is another hutch i bought it came from my friend Debs shop ,Feildstone Flowers and Antiques i liked  it the way it was so i did, nt touch it, origally it was going to go at the foot of my bed, but the stairwell in the new house is so narrow i, m currently using it as a sideboard  in the dining room.

I picked up this mirror at a yardsale for 10 bucks, I painted it white then stained it to match the hutch, it sits above the sideboard

This is the carpet in the dining room it, s just from wallmart of all places but i love the flowers, also in the pic are my dogs n cat. Emma, zoe n marty ...so cute .

This is just a close up of the finish on the hutch

This is a rocker i picked up for 20 bucks ,it's truly an old ricety rocker but i love it, above is an old window i added some pages of a favorite book

DIY old window art....

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend.I did here's, what i got up to. I took an old window
Grabbed an old book ,one of my faves- Pride and Predjudice (I had an extra copy) I boiled some water and used tetly tea bags and aged the paper by dragging the tea bag along the edges, some i dunked some pages right in the bowl.
Then I hung them up to dry about 30 minutes or so.
Next I placed them randomly on the glass, and used scotch tape to secure the pages to the window.
All done ... I hung mine in the dining room for now ,but eventually it will hang in my office nook......
But thats a whole other project in the making... Have fun ...till next time,
